New Delhi. On the occasion of World Environment Day, an impactful awareness programme was organized on the theme “Melting Himalayan Glaciers, Dying Ganga” under the aegis of Voice of Ganga and Himalaya – A Global Organization. The event, held at IIC, New Delhi, saw the participation of environmentalists, policymakers, students, and social activists from across the country.

Union Minister Shri Chirag Paswan was the Chief Guest at the event. In his address, he said:
“The Himalayas and the Ganga are not just symbols of our nature—they are the soul of India. Their protection is not just the responsibility of the Ministry of Environment but a moral duty of every citizen. We must turn this into a mass movement.”

Senior legislator, environmentalist, and mentor of The Global Himalaya Organization, Kishore Upadhyay, said on the occasion:
“The Himalayas are not just the lifeline of North India but of the entire South Asian region. If the glaciers continue to melt at this pace, future generations may be left without even drinking water. This is not just an environmental crisis—it’s a warning of impending social and economic disaster.”

Referring to a recently published global study, he highlighted how glaciers are rapidly melting in the Arctic region, including Norway’s Svalbard, and warned that the same is likely for the Himalayan region.

The Save Himalaya Charitable Foundation Maharashtra played a pivotal role in the success of this awareness campaign. The organization actively contributed to organizing the event, raising public awareness, engaging policymakers, and involving the youth.

Ashish Tuli, CEO of the foundation, said:
“Protecting the Himalayas is the first condition for securing the future of human civilization. We must take decisive steps together, because this is not merely an environmental issue—it is a matter of human survival.”

Foundation trustee Karan Doshi also stated:
“Today, the Himalayas are not just losing ice, but our identity, culture, and continuity of life are also under threat. We must connect both emotionally and scientifically to take this mission of saving the Himalayas to every individual.”

A.K. Bajpai, National Vice President of the Lok Janshakti Party, remarked:
“The Himalayan crisis is not merely ecological but a crisis of national existence. Our policies now need to shift into emergency mode and become environment-centric, or future generations won’t forgive us.”

Kishore Upadhyay, a three-time MLA from Tehri and former State President of the Uttarakhand Congress, has been consistently fighting for social, environmental, and cultural concerns in the Himalayan region for over 45 years. He has raised national-level issues such as the Tehri Dam displacement, forest rights, and conservation of Himalayan rivers.

He also mentioned his policy work with two former Prime Ministers and several initiatives in collaboration with institutions like INTACH for the conservation of cultural heritage.

The event concluded with all participants taking a collective pledge:
“Save Himalayas, Save Water, Save Lives”,
and appealed to governments and international organizations to give top priority to the climate crisis and frame strong, sustainable policies to protect the Himalayas.

रक्षा अनुसंधान एवं विकास संगठन (डीआरडीओ) ने 3 अप्रैल से 5 अप्रैल, 2025 तक नई दिल्ली के भारत मंडपम में आयोजित बहुअपेक्षित स्टार्ट-अप महाकुंभ में भाग लिया। इस भव्य आयोजन ने नवाचार और उद्यमिता को बढ़ावा देने के लिए अग्रणी स्टार्ट-अप, उद्योग विशेषज्ञों, निवेशकों और नीति निर्माताओं को एकजुट करने का काम किया। इस प्रतिष्ठित सभा में डीआरडीओ की उपस्थिति भारत के रक्षा क्षेत्र को उभरती प्रौद्योगिकियों से एकीकृत करने, आत्मनिर्भरता को बढ़ावा देने और स्वदेशी क्षमताओं को सशक्त बनाने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम को चिह्नित किया।

स्टार्ट-अप महाकुंभ को समझना

स्टार्ट-अप महाकुंभ अपनी तरह का पहला आयोजन था जिसे रक्षा, प्रौद्योगिकी, स्वास्थ्य सेवा, कृषि प्रौद्योगिकी, फिनटेक और अन्य सहित विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में स्टार्ट-अप के लिए एक मेगा-प्लेटफ़ॉर्म के रूप में डिज़ाइन किया गया था। इस पहल का उद्देश्य नवोन्मेषी मस्तिष्क और उनके विचारों को प्रभावशाली समाधानों में बदलने के लिए आवश्यक संसाधनों के बीच के अंतर को कम करना था। सरकारी निकायों, उद्योग संघों और प्रमुख उद्यम पूंजीपतियों के समर्थन से आयोजित, स्टार्ट-अप महाकुंभ भारत के उद्यमशीलता पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र के लिए एक गेम-चेंजर साबित हुआ।

अंत में, बौद्धिक संपदा अधिकार (आईपीआर) के क्षेत्र में, डीआरडीओ ने 639 पेटेंट सहित कुल 2529 आईपीआर के साथ महत्वपूर्ण उपलब्धियां हासिल की हैं।

भारत उद्यमशीलता के एक वैश्विक केंद्र के रूप में उभरा है, जो वर्तमान में अमेरिका और ब्रिटेन के बाद विश्व स्टार्ट-अप इकोसिस्टम में तीसरे स्थान पर है। उद्योग और आंतरिक व्यापार संवर्धन विभाग (DPIIT) ने 1.4 लाख से अधिक स्टार्ट-अप को मान्यता दी है, जिससे 15 लाख से अधिक प्रत्यक्ष नौकरियां पैदा हुई हैं। कुछ सबसे प्रभावशाली उपक्रमों में इनमॉब-एडटेक, स्विगी, फ्लिपकार्ट, बायजू, फ्रेशवर्क्स, पेटीएम, ओला, ओयो, ड्रीम 11 और डिलीवरी लॉजिस्टिक्स शामिल हैं, जिन्होंने अपने संबंधित क्षेत्र को बड़े स्तर पर परिवर्तित किया है।

डीआरडीओ की स्टार्ट-अप पहल रक्षा क्षेत्र में नवाचार को सशक्त बनाने, उद्यमशीलता का समर्थन करने और औद्योगिक विकास को सक्षम करने के लिए एक मजबूत और समावेशी रणनीति को दर्शाती है। प्रौद्योगिकी विकास निधि (टीडीएफ) योजना एक प्रमुख पहल है, जो स्टार्ट-अप और एमएसएमई को वित्तीय सहायता प्रदान करके अत्याधुनिक तकनीकों के विकास को बढ़ावा देती है। डेयर टू ड्रीम इनोवेशन चैलेंज व्यक्तियों और स्टार्ट-अप को अभिनव रक्षा समाधानों का प्रस्ताव देने हेतु प्रोत्साहित करके अभूतपूर्व विचारों को पोषित करने के लिए एक मंच के रूप में कार्य करता है।

गाजियाबाद। राष्ट्रीय क्षय उन्मूलन कार्यक्रम तहत केंद्र सरकार और राज्य सरकार द्वारा टीबी रोग को खत्म करने के निरंतर प्रयास किये जा रहे है। केंद्र सरकार और राज्य सरकार के इन प्रयासों में समाज सेवी संस्थाएं भी अपनी महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभा रहे है। इसी कड़ी में आरएचएएम फाउंडेशन द्वारा रोटरी स्वास्थ्य जागरूकता मिशन के तहत टीबी रोग उन्मूलन के लिए पोषाहार वितरित और जागरूकता अभियान चलाया जा रहा है।

इस क्रम में आरएचएएम फाउंडेशन द्वारा पीएचसी, कनावनी, गाजियाबाद में आयोजित कार्यक्रम में समाज के वंचित वर्ग के 50 से अधिक टीबी रोगियों को गाजियाबाद के मुख्य चिकित्सा अधिकारी द्वारा स्वकृति पैमाने के आधार पर सहयोग प्रदान किया गया। जिसमें 15 रोगियों को पोषण पोटली और 35 रोगियों को प्रोटीन पाउडर और फ्रूटी वितरित की गई। इस दौरान आरएचएएम फाउंडेशन के चिकित्सा विशेषज्ञों ने बताया किन दो हफ्ते से ज्यादा खांसी होने पर डॉक्टर से सलाह लेनी चाहिए। डाक्टर की सलाह से ही दवा का पूरा कोर्स लें। मास्क पहनें या हर बार खांसने या छींकने से पहले मुंह को कपड़े से ढक कर रखें। मरीजों हवादार व रोशनी वाले कमरे में रहें। पौष्टिक खाना खाए, एक्सरसाइज व योग करे। बीड़ी, सिगरेट, हुक्का, तंबाकू, शराब आदि से परहेज करें। भीड़-भाड़ वाली और गंदी जगहों पर जाने से बचें। साथ ही डॉक्टरों द्वारा उपचार के लिए उपलब्ध कराई गई दवाओं और प्रोटीन युक्त आहार को नियमित करें। जिससे से वे जल्द से जल्द स्वस्थ हो सके।

आरएचएएम फाउंडेशन के संस्थापक और अध्यक्ष धीरज भार्गव बताया कि फाउंडेशन द्वारा चलाए जा रहे अभियान के सकारात्म परिणाम आ रहे है। उन्होंने बताया कि फाउंडेशन टीबी रोग उन्मूलन के लिए निरंतर कार्य कर रही है। जिसके चलते आरएचएएम फाउंडेशन द्वारा गोद लिए गये लोनी पीएचसी, चिरोड़ी पीएचसी, खोड़ा पीएचसी, कनवानी पीएचसी, ईएसआई पीएचसी, मुरादनगर पीएचसी, साहिबाबाद पीएचसी , पसोंडा पीएचसी और करहैड़ा पीएचसी पर टीबी रोग उन्मूलन के लिए पोषाहार वितरण और जागरूकता अभियान चलाया जा रहा है।

New Delhi. Under the Sharmdan – Cleanliness Drive, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has launched a specific theme based cleanliness drive for all the back-lanes of its area, by coordination of Horticulture, Sanitation, Civil Engineering and Enforcement and other Departments today.

In order to achieve the objectives of Shramdan – Cleanliness Drive, NDMC has already launched a citywide Mega Cleanliness- Shramdan Drive from 5th May 2025 in its 14 Sanitation Circles simultaneously by involving Employees, Students & Teachers, Resident Welfare Association (RWAs) and Market Traders Associations (MTAs) daily from 8.00 am to 9.00 am.

To motivate all walk of life participation the Chief Minister of Delhi, NDMC Chairman, Vice Chairman, Members of the Council along with other dignitaries were already participated in the cleanliness drive.

During the Shramdan – Cleanliness Drive, NDMC mobilized its all work force at the roads, circles, roundabouts, Park & Gardens, Hospitals, Dispensaries, Electric sub-stations, Office buildings, field offices along with residential complexes, market and business hubs areas for the special drive to focus on removal of garbage, malba, plastic waste, horticulture waste, repairing and maintenance of foot paths, cleaning of underpass, sub-ways, schools, Govt. buildings and places of worship etc.
Under the back lane cleanliness drive, NDMC is focussing on the Construction & Demolition (C&D) waste laying in the back lanes and rear sides.

NDMC is urging for proper disposal of Construction and Demolition waste. This is due to several factors, including the growing volume of C&D waste generated by construction and repairing activities, the environmental impact of improper disposal, and the potential to reuse and recycle C&D materials. NDMC appealing and educating the public about the importance of proper C&D waste disposal.
 
NDMC area’s construction and repairing sites generates a large amount of C&D waste monthly, estimated between 500-700 metric tonnes. This waste includes materials like concrete, asphalt, wood, metals, and other building debris.

Improperly managed C&D waste can lead to pollution of water sources and air, as well as the degradation of urban ecosystems. C&D waste can be recycled and reused in construction, reducing the need for virgin materials and lowering costs. 

Illegally dumped C&D waste can pose public health risks by creating breeding grounds for insects and rodents, and by attracting animals. NDMC is implementing such regulations to prevent illegal dumping of C&D waste and enforcing penalties against violators. 
NDMC is partnering with waste management agencies to manage and process C&D waste, turning debris into reusable materials. NDMC is also collaborating with dedicated C&D waste processing plants of MCD to handle the waste stream. NDMC also established 14 collection points for C&D waste in each sanitation circle, making it easier for residents to dispose of their debris responsibly. 

Under this drive, the  Horticulture Department of NDMC removed maximum dry leaves from all five major parks/gardens of the NDMC area. The Civil Eng. Department removed maximum malba from street, lanes, bye lanes, colonies, parks and other public area.  

The focus in this cleanliness drive is to maintain the greenery by removing the horticulture waste, pruning of trees and shrubs for better visibility and aesthetic look as well as improving air quality. Daily watering of the trees, shrubs, central verge, along road side green stripes and roundabouts is being carried out.

The cleanliness drive also cover the storm water drains cleaning and other road sides drains, to avoid any waterlogging during rain or otherwise. The repairing of footpaths, railings, street furniture, main holes, bell mouths and manholes for improving the aesthetics of public places is the main activity of Civil Engineering Department under the Drive. Deep cleaning through jet spray water, wiping foot paths and public places in market areas is the daily activity in this Cleaning drive.
  
Along with the many sanitation activities, malaria workers have also started fogging drive in these areas. The malaria worker will also intensify search for on site mosquito breeding. During this drive intensification of anti-larval activities for prevention & control of dengue and other vector borne diseases will take place. Intensified challaning against those who create mosquito genic conditions, public littering, and waste generation on the public streets are also carrying underway.

During the drive, NDMC is monitoring the strict enforcement in view of zero tolerance for all type of encroachment on public places, unauthorized venders and illegal hoardings, banners or any other defacing activities in public area.  In the market and business areas, enforcement teams regularly checking the lack of waste bins with the vendor’s shops and offices.  To implement the single use plastic ban in market area, NDMC is conducting surprise visits/raids to check the polythene bags and other items which ban under the single use plastic ban regulation.

The active participation of the local RWAs and MTAs are appreciated during the cleanliness drive for their Shramdan in their premises as well as surrounding areas to support the cleanliness activities.

New Delhi. New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) is organizing its next Suvidha Camp to provide information, facilitation and grievances redressal for the benefit of its services users at NDCC Convention Centre, Jai Singh Road (near Palika Kendra), New Delhi on Saturday, 3rd May, 2025 from 10.30 A.M to 12.30 P.M.

The Suvidha Camp will address the grievances related to new electricity connection/disconnection, load enhancement/reduction, name change/transfer, property tax, birth & death certificate, service matters of serving & retired employees of NDMC, Water logging, Sanitation, Waste Disposal, Road repairs,  widow pension, old age pension, handicapped pension, Booking of Barat Ghar & parks and any other services offered by NDMC. 

The Suvidha Camp Helpdesks of the various departments will provide facilitations and redress the grievances of service users, employees, RWAs, MTAs and residents of NDMC. NDMC organizes Suvidha Camp on the first Saturday of every month at NDMC Convention Centre, Jai Singh Road.

Apart from organizing the Suvidha Camps, NDMC has also launched a “Jan Suvidha Portal” as a contactless grievance redressal mechanism for the residents and service users of NDMC. The link for the Jan Suvidha portal is available on NDMC website (https://www.ndmc.gov.in/complaints.aspx). The Jan Suvidha Portal can be used for lodging the grievance, tracking their grievance status and for giving feedback on the grievance redressal mechanism.

NDMC Departmental Canteen maintains the Plastic Free Zone Policy in serving the food items.

New Delhi. On the occasion of International Labour Day, in a significant step towards improving employee welfare by providing affordable and convenient meal, snacks and other food item options to Employees, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), Chairman – Shri Keshav Chandra dedicated a renovated departmental canteen at its Headquarter – Palika Kendra, New Delhi today.

NDMC Departmental Canteen facility is a joint venture in association with IRCTC in which all food items will be provided by the IRCTC and NDMC will provide space facility for the canteen.

The canteen space is spread over an area of about 1200 sq. feet with capacity of 50 seating and 10 standing persons which is situated at Palika Kendra entrance Gate No. 1. The kitchen of the canteen is equipped with the latest modern appliances. The menu of the Canteen includes popular dishes from North and South India and will serve breakfast, lunch, snacks and beverages.

The area is well ventilated with central air-conditioning and has abundant natural light, giving a comfortable feel to the users and staff.  Canteen will be Functional from 8.00 AM to 6.00 PM on working days including Saturday, the Canteen will offer a good eating facility for the staff and visitors of the building of Palika Kendra.

The Canteen will not use the plastic disposable utensils for serving food items. NDMC and IRCTC will adhere to plastic Free Zone policy in the canteen and the food will be served in the steel utensils. Quality and quantity will be checked periodically for monitoring of facilities provided by Canteen.

An outlet of Mother Dairy is already running in the corner of Canteen as Ice Cream Parlour and other dairy food items for the employees and visitors.

The inauguration event was organised in a simple ceremony with the participation of Shri Tariq Thomas, Secretary, other Senior Officers, Staff Members of NDMC and also senior officers of IRCTC including Shri M. Dinkar, DGM, Shri Anand Kumar Jha, AGM, and Shri Jai Singh, Catering Supervisor.

The inauguration of the new canteen can be a morale booster for employees, showing that the organization cares about their well-being. This inauguration is a symbol of NDMC’s commitment towards its employees.

Canteens can also serve as a social hub for employees, providing a place to relax and interact during breaks.
Departmental canteen is a way to enhance employee’s well-being by providing affordable and nutritious meals, refreshments, snacks and other food items especially for those who work long hours or have limited lunch break time. A readily available and affordable canteen can contribute to employee productivity by minimizing the time spent on finding and purchasing food during working hours.

नई दिल्ली. जम्मू कश्मीर के पहलगाम में हुए आतंकी हमले के बाद पूरे देश में गुस्सा और शोक का माहौल है। इसी भावना के बीच, रविवार 27 अप्रैल को राजधानी दिल्ली में शहीदों को श्रद्धांजलि देने के लिए श्रद्धांजलि यात्रा निकाली गई। मैत्रीबोध परिवार द्वारा आयोजित इस यात्रा में बड़ी संख्या में दिल्लीवासियों ने भाग लिया,

श्रद्धांजलि यात्रा एम्स गेट नंबर 2, अंसारी नगर ब्लॉक ए से शुरू हुई और साउथ एक्स 2 तक चली। हाथों में तिरंगा थामे, भारत माता की जय के नारों के बीच लोगों ने शहीदों को श्रद्धा सुमन अर्पित किए। इस दौरान सभी ने नफरत और विभाजन की ताकतों के खिलाफ एकजुट होकर चलने का संकल्प लिया।यात्रा का उद्देश्य देश की मिट्टी और एकता के प्रति अपने कर्तव्य को याद दिलाना है।

यात्रा के दौरान ‘एक भारत, हम भारत’ के गगनभेदी नारों ने माहौल को ऊर्जा से भर दिया। हर कदम पर मौन श्रद्धांजलि और प्रेम का संदेश था। काजल अग्रवाल, मकरंद देशपांडे, आदित्य नारायण जैसी जानी-मानी हस्तियों ने भी इस पहल का समर्थन करते हुए प्रेम और एकता का संदेश फैलाया।

पहलगाम में एक सहभागी ने भावुक होकर कहा, “यहां निर्दोष पर्यटक घृणा के शिकार हुए। इस यात्रा के माध्यम से हम उन्हें प्रेम और सम्मान के साथ याद करते हैं।” यात्रा ने यह सच्चाई सामने रखी कि अगर नफरत जान ले सकती है, तो प्रेम भी जीवन दे सकता है। एक प्रवक्ता ने कहा, “जब समाज में दूरियां बढ़ रही हैं, मैत्रेय दादाश्रीजी के मार्गदर्शन में मैत्रीबोध परिवार प्रेम और एकता का एक जीवंत उदाहरण पेश कर रहा है। यह यात्रा सिर्फ कदमों की नहीं, दिलों के जुड़ने की यात्रा थी।”

यात्रा का समापन अनुशासित मौन साधना के साथ शहीदों को समर्पित रहा। यह ऐतिहासिक क्षण हमेशा याद रखा जाएगा — जब भारत ने डर पर प्रेम को, विभाजन पर एकता को और निराशा पर आशा को चुना।
