DP World Empowers Young Cricketers in New Delhi with Beyond Boundaries Initiative

New Delhi / Rohan Sharma. DP World, a global leader in smart supply chain solutions, demonstrated its commitment to expanding cricket access worldwide by delivering 500 cricket kits to grassroots academies at the Aerocity Ground, Delhi, as part of its Beyond Boundaries initiative.

In a bid to foster young cricketing talent in India, DP World repurposed 50 shipping containers to equip grassroots cricket clubs with essential kits, equipment, and facilities. The latest delivery benefits 500 aspiring players from academies including Bal Bharati and Bal Bhavan in Delhi. Additionally, two containers, adorned with cricket-themed artwork capturing Delhi’s spirit, will serve as changing rooms and resting pavilions for the beneficiaries.

The launch event witnessed the participation of Delhi Capitals players David Warner, Anrich Nortje, Yash Dhull, and Poonam Yadav, along with Head Coach Ricky Ponting and Director of Cricket Sourav Ganguly. Adhendru Jain from DP World and representatives from Delhi Capitals’ Men’s and Women’s teams engaged with and distributed the kits to young beneficiaries from seven academies across Delhi NCR. DP World serves as the Global Logistics Partner for both Delhi Capitals teams.

This initiative marks the return of Beyond Boundaries to India post the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, where DP World pledged 10 kits for every 100 runs scored in a match, resulting in 2,500 kits in total. Over 1,250 kits have already been delivered in Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Dubai, and Johannesburg through this initiative.

Adhendru Jain, Vice President, Rail and Inland Terminals, DP World Subcontinent, highlighted the initiative’s commitment to promoting inclusivity in sports and supporting grassroots talent: “Through Beyond Boundaries, we are thrilled to support the Men’s and Women’s teams here in Delhi, ensuring aspiring players have access to the game.”

Sunil Gupta, CEO of Delhi Capitals, lauded DP World’s efforts, emphasizing the positive impact of initiatives like Beyond Boundaries in nurturing young talent and uniting communities through cricket.

DP World plans to distribute the remaining containers globally in 2024, leveraging its extensive network across 74 countries and six continents to expand cricket access and opportunities for young players.
