Delhi. The NCRTCES 2024, hosted at Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology, marked an academic milestone by bringing together experts, scholars, and students to delve into emerging trends, research, and innovations. With a focus on climate change, energy, and sustainability, the conference aimed to tackle unresolved research issues and present fresh, creative solutions in these critical areas. Central themes included advancements in artificial intelligence for environmental sustainability and efficient energy usage, as well as efforts to minimize plastic use and encourage eco-friendly alternatives.

The event comprised five main tracks:

  1. Climate Change and Extreme Weather
  2. Energy
  3. Weather Forecasting and Information Management
  4. Sustainability
  5. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

The conference's first day featured insightful sessions, setting a high standard for the discussions that followed. The day's proceedings began with the arrival of distinguished dignitaries: Dr. Jagvir Singh, Scientist G from the Ministry of Earth Sciences; Prof. Prem Vrat, Pro-Chancellor of The NorthCap University; Dr. Buddha Chandrashekhar, Chief Coordinating Officer at AICTE; Prof. S.K. Garg, Director of East Delhi Campus and former Vice-Chancellor of DTU; Dr. O.P. Mishra, Scientist F at the Ministry of Earth Sciences; Smt. Esha Jhakar, Vice President of SMES; Shri Ajit Singh, Secretary of Surajmal Memorial Education Society; Shri Rajpal Solanki, Treasurer of SMES; and Prof. Archana Balyan, Director of MSIT and Organizing Chair of NCRTCES 2024.

Following a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and Saraswati Vandana, Prof. Archana Balyan delivered the welcome address, and keynote speakers Dr. Jagvir Singh, Dr. O.P. Mishra, Dr. Palak Balyan, and Col. B. Venkat set the tone for the conference with thought-provoking speeches. The inaugural ceremony was followed by a series of paper presentations, where students and researchers showcased emerging ideas and research pivotal to environmental conservation. These presentations were held in parallel sessions, fostering in-depth discussions on innovative topics.

In addition to the technical sessions, a cultural program brought a creative flair to the event, highlighting the talents within the college community. This was followed by a networking dinner, allowing attendees to connect informally, discuss ideas, and explore potential collaborations.

The first day of NCRTCES 2024 was a resounding success, characterized by diverse topics and expert insights that enriched all participants. This conference served as a powerful platform for academic and professional growth, with discussions expected to inspire further advancements in research and practice.
